1. Develop & Manage Supplier Quality strategy:
• Plan and facilitate potential audits of suppliers considering quality standards of MBAG
• Collaborate with Mercedes-Benz AG (or various regions, if required) to incorporate global
requirements; carry out potential analysis as appropriate
• Identify non confirmation or findings during onsite audits to achieve targets, with a view to
achieve overall quality objectives of MBAG
• Evaluate existing & new vendors in terms of process, facility, systems
• Communicate Mercedes-Benz AG standards to global suppliers; Lead the supplier
development process; Create project plans for development, including timeframes and
milestones
• Arrange for provision of technical guidance, process inputs, quality specifications, etc. to
suppliers, as appropriate (supplier / part release process, P-PAP)
• Plan and organize meetings with global suppliers as well as crossfunctional-groups of MBAG
with a view to enhance supplier relationships
• Analyze information from various sources that will have an impact on MBAG quality
standards as appropriate
2. Improve cost competitiveness of the supply chain, with focus on the 4 value drivers (Cost,
Quality, Logistics and RD):
• Ensure that all production components are released in line with MBAG quality standards also
ensure alignment with Cross Functional Team qualified suppliers, as appropriate
• Work towards consolidating the supplier base with suppliers to enable reduction in defects and
achievement of quality target
• Be responsible for audits (creating, executing, informing findings, measurement tracking,
plausibility of measurement) with suppliers on a periodic basis
• Conduct potential supplier audit, PPAP, location change, introduction of new product, VDA
audits etc.
• Ensure that quality benchmarks are carried out to achieve the target
3. Ensure compliant operations and implementation of quality related systems :
• Ensure that all stages of the PSQ as well as supplier quality process, all compliance norms are
adhered to and completed
• Ensure compliant quality processes and related tools to meet governmental, safety,
environmental-protection regulations, ISO, Mercedes-Benz AG requirements etc.
• Analyze and understand implications of external policies (such as government policies) on
activities
• Implement policies, procedures, systems and methods to cover supplier quality activities
• Ensure diligent documentation, maintenance of updates on systems and reporting to
management, as appropriate
• Follow formulated MBAG process
• Recognizing knowledge gaps of new employee and offering to share these information.
